I had attended
FBCNM as a child and, as I went through my teen years, slowly stopped
attending. After the birth of my first child, I knew that I wanted to raise
her to receive Christ. I returned to FBCNM and found more than just a
church to attend on Sundays, I found a family. The kindness, understanding,
and support I witness and receive from the church family is amazing. Over
the past year and half I have come to find Jesus. Along with that,
perspective on what is important in life and what lies ahead.
I went to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at FBCNM as a child. As an
adult, I sent my children and then drifted away for a number of years.
After the death of my mother, I returned to church and found the peace and
fellowship that I had missed. My Christian family is a very big and
important part of my life now.

Christmas Eve
of 2006 my family attended First Baptist Church. My children and I continued
as my husband was not quite ready. I gave my life to Christ on April 1,
2007. I went home and told my husband about an amazing experience I just had
at church, even though he probably didn't understand. As I continued my walk
with the Lord my husband grew curious as to what he was missing out on as he
could see my life changing spiritually. He called me one morning from work
and said ‘I am going to start going to church next weekend.’ I said ‘what is
wrong with this weekend.’ He said ‘you are right.’ My husband gave his life
to Christ that month. My husband and I were baptized in October 2007 and my
daughter gave her life to Christ in January 2008. First Baptist Church has
truly been a blessing to our family and there is no greater joy then knowing
we will spend eternity together with the one and only Jesus Christ Himself.
FBCNM has
been a part of my life for many years and the main reason is "Love".
From the time that a homeless man stopped with his shopping cart one
Sunday morning, to the several men from Holland that stopped one Sunday
evening because they saw the lights on as we were getting ready for
evening service. This is God's house and we share His love to all who
come to Worship Him. Isaac would be proud to know we are keeping God's
Word alive at FBCNM

When I walk
through the doors of First Baptist Church, I feel like I am at home with my
family who loves me unconditionally. There is such a sweet spirit present
because everyone just loves the Lord so much and wants to grow in Him. It's
a place where I know that I can bring my family and not worry about what is
being taught because it's all about Jesus. I am so blessed to be apart of
this family of believers. God is doing exciting things and I am glad He
has allowed me to be a part of it.
