Rev. Jason D. Genest, Pastor

Pastor Jason serves as the Pastor/Teaching Elder at First Baptist.  Prior to his arrival in September 2006, he served as a Pastor in Rhode Island, where he also worked with a group of people in planting a new, evangelical Baptist church.  A native of the South Shore, he has served several churches in Massachusetts as Pastor, Interim Pastor and Youth/Family Pastor.  He is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, having graduated from the Boston’s CUME (Center for Urban Ministerial Education) campus.

He brings a passion for Christ-centered preaching and teaching, along with a heart for pastoral care.  His desire is to see people come to know Christ in a real and personal way, and to see Believers discipled to be effective witnesses and ambassadors for the Kingdom.  His vision for ministry is simple – preach the Word!

Life Verses:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross…
Hebrews 12:1-2

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ…Philippians 3:7-8

Pastor Jason and his wife, Cricket,
